Residents of a West Bromwich street are reporting that fearless grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) are creating a nuisance.

 Details
The squirrels are entering houses in search of food and it has come to a head because residents have had to keep their doors and windows shut during the recent heat wave. RSPCA officials say that the squirrels have lost their fear of people because they are used to being fed by them. A local councillor has also laid part of the blame with overgrown trees which facilitate the squirrel's access to houses. Locals are hoping that pruning the trees will reduce the problem.
